Annual General Meeting of Pacific GIS and Remote Sensing Council

The Annual General Meeting for the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Council was held during the Pacific GIS & RS Conference due to the presence of the Pacific Island Country Focal Points. These in-country Focal Points are active GIS & RS users with direct link to their home country GIS & RS user groups. Reports from known activities from each focal point was reported during the meeting and the PGRSC aims to have more of a regional impact through the in country supported focal points to the conference which is currently Fijian driven.

The first meeting of the PGRSC Board and Focal Points also took place, and was very fruitful as links between regional focal points were also established, as well as the sharing of ideas of PGRSC related activities to strengthen their own network in their respective countries occurred.

Membership (Indivdial, Student and Institutional) has now been open to the public, where the registration fee is free for founding members til March, 2019. This is a new avenue whereby the PGRSC seeks to encourage and involve the Pacific Region and interested parties.
