STAR 2019 will be held in Suva during the period 19 – 22 November 2019. This year STAR 2019 will coincide with the Pacific Islands GIS&RS User Conference 2019 which will commence on 25 November 2019.
Please find attached the 2nd Circular for STAR 2019. It includes full details on the conference programme, format, venue details and accommodation options. A registration form in word.doc format has also been attached for your use for registrations.
It is expected that abstracts should be forwarded to the Steering Committee at starconference2019@gmail.com not later than 18 October 2019. Early abstract submission would be much appreciated by the committee. Abstracts should conform to the format provided in the attached Instructions for Authors.
Student presentation will be most welcome.
To conclude the conference on Friday 22 November several activities have been arranged:
- A field trip to several islands near Suva, will look at recent changes to coastal and island morphology; and
- A workshop on the use of drones to gather geospatial data has been arranged in conjunction with staff from the University of the South Pacific and the Australian National University.
