2018 Conference Highlights
The 2018 Pacific GIS & RS User Conference was officially opened by Fiji's Permanent Secretary of Lands and Mineral Resources, Mr. Malakai Finau at the USP Japan ICT Auditorium on the 26th of November, 2018. Over 200 participants attended the week long conference from across the Pacific and far reaches of the globe, with over 50 presentations in total across all subject areas in GIS and Remote Sensing with applications in UAV, environmental protection and disaster. A total of five workshops were run on Friday the 30th of November at various locations at USP and SPC.
Since the formalisation of the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Council earlier in 2018, meetings with focal points and their progression in their respective countries was discussed as well the the first AGM of the PGRSC.

A number of awards and prizes were handed out during our conference closing cocktail at SPC - including the Spatial Excellence Awards in the Pacific Category from SIBA-GITA.
